frustrated asked: To make a long story short, I had booked my hotel reservation through American Express travel and paid in advance to Amex. Unfortunately, we couldn’t sleep at all because the noise disturbances on our floor. We were so angry that we checked out at 3 a.m. When we left the police came to deal with the guests who were making the noise. The hotel manager apologized and told us that there will be no charge.
So, 3 months later I am still trying to make Amex understand that it’s Amex travel who should credit us and not the hotel because when we checked in the room was already paid for. As far as the hotel is concerned I never paid for the room because we check in and out with a zero balance. I keep getting a letter from them that they can’t verify with the hotel and the hotel keeps telling me that they never charged me for the room.
I have no idea what to do next because everytime I call Amex I have to explain the entire situation again to different agents. Please help!

Shells asked:
I made a hotel reservation from Orbitz.com. They charged me about $291 to my credit card. And after the trip, I noticed the hotel charged me too in the amount of $316. I tried to dispute it with my credit card company (Citi Bank) and they are asking me for a proof if Orbitz.com actually payed that hotel on my behalf. I called orbitz.com and they said they’ll contact the hotel & let me know. And I haven’t heard since. What should I do now?

I have no credit/debit card, but I would like to make a reservation for a Ramada Inn hotel in New Jersey. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of the Ramada Inn’s reservation policies? I could possibly use a parent’s credit card to make the reservation, but I would not be able to provide the credit card at check-in/check-out. Does anyone know if the Ramada Inn accepts cash at check-in? Thanks in advance.

Pebbles asked:
I have a reservation 8 days from now and I needed to cancel. The hotel is attempting to charge a $1,300.00 fee to my credit card. It was my understanding that by law the hotel will have to remove the charge if I dispute it. Does anyone know if this is accurate?
Thanks for all of your responses! We did ask before the reservation was made and we were told we could cancel up to 24 hours in advance with only a $25.00 fee. Now they want to charge us for the entire reservation. We have spoken with the secretary to the top manager and we are awaiting a reply. I just wanted to research the issue so I am prepared when the call is returned. Thanks again!

My credit is not what you would call normal. I have creditors calling me all of the time. I am paying them back slowly and intend to pay them back, but in the mean time I need a credit card for my other expences and to obtain hotel reservations and car rentals. The reason my credit is so bad is because of a past relationship I was in the guy wrote out bad checks and it came back to bite me in the you know what. The point is that I need a credit card for my other expences and I have terrible credit. Please help! Thanks to all that have advise.
